This diagnosis got us on regular MRA screening schedules.  A few months ago, one of those screenings popped up with something a little concerning, which meant I needed to see a neurologist. So, naturally, I was set on him [Dr. Levy] handling my care. I had a cranial angiogram and then a cranial stent placement, and both procedures were handled so smoothly at Atlas. 

My whole experience [at the Atlas Surgery Center], from my very first contact at Dr Levy’s office right through to when I left Atlas, was simply outstanding. Honestly, every single person I encountered showed such genuine care and professionalism.  They were always a step ahead, giving me all the information I needed before I even thought to ask, which made everything feel so easy and reassuring.

During my stent placement, things got a *tiny* bit complicated. Even though I was right there in the operating room, Dr. Levy personally took the time to explain everything to me. His calmness was so infectious; it immediately put me at ease. It really speaks volumes about your entire team that everyone, no matter their role, handles potentially tricky situations with such expert precision.

While I was recovering in my room, another hiccup occurred when they tried to loosen the clamp, and it led to some significant bleeding.  Not one person’s expression faltered. Their movements were precise, their voices steady and incredibly reassuring and they just exuded this profound sense of control. Their unwavering calm, in every action and word, had an incredibly grounding effect on me, completely stopping any panic from setting in.

The Atlas team’s dedication didn’t stop when the clock did! As closing time approached, they stayed right by my side. The exceptional care didn’t even end when I left the building! Within an hour of getting home, Dr. Jaims Lim, who was also my angiogram fellow, actually Facetimed me to check in personally on my recovery.

They were so confident that once the heparin cleared my system, I’d be stable enough to go home. They laid out a super clear plan: if the bleeding continued by 6 PM, I’d be transferred to Buffalo General; otherwise, they’d help me get up and ready for discharge. True to their word, I stabilized and was able to head home.

My niece, who was with me all day, confessed that while she had her moments of real worry for me, the staff’s consistently incredible demeanor and composure were absolutely key in keeping her own anxieties in check.

It’s genuinely hard to find the right words to express just how much admiration and gratitude I have for Dr. Levy’s entire team. They truly became my personal heroes during what could have been a very daunting time. I’ll forever be indebted to them and to Atlas for the outstanding, truly compassionate care that made such a profound difference in my recovery journey.
